I always hated the summertime, because, um
More often than not, I would spend it alone
And I think that built up in me the idea of what
an ideal summer would look like
Y'know, spending time with friends
Going on, uh, y'know, a cross-country road trip
Doing, just like, crazy shit
Y'know, taking, sort of
Sunburnt instant photos, and um
Learning a lot about what, what we want
Or about what our place is in the world
That kind of existential stuff that
It's easy, to uh, not think about when you're busy
But kind of opens up when you have nothing else going on
I think, thinking about how I want to spend summers from here on out
I'm not trying to create the Great American Summer that I have in my head, but
Y'know, as close as I can get to that with the people who around me
I think it's easy for me to forget that there are
A whole bunch of people who want to spend time with me
Or who really appreciate me
Um, y'know, it can be hard in the summer
When everyone seems like they're living their best lives to feel like you're not
But, y'know how much of that is my own fears of reaching out to people versus the reality?
There's no reason why I can't have - if not a Great American Summer, at least a good one
For this LP, Formen modified old 16bit effects units which were then cascaded via internal patch points to develop a glitchy sound. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 18, 2021
